So I wonder if I am one of the very few who are decided to talk about how evil music can be upon the soul of us mere human beings. Before passing judgemnt, I too am guilty of opening this door for the devil to spread words of craziness into my ear while I bop my head to the sounds and rhythmn. Beats are entertaining, beats are fun to dance too, beats are LIVE!!!....but the words that follow these beats are what I am concerned about. I remember sitting through a sermon a few yrs back and the preacher said to us, "the music we listen to can drag us straight to hell!!!!!!!!!!" Ouch! Fortunately he made me realize the truth behind such statement! Tupac once said "LIVE BY THE GUN ; DIE BY THE GUN!" he also once quoted in a song, "SEND ME TO HELL, CUZ I AINT BEGGING FO' MY LIFE, AINT NOTHING WORSE THAN THIS CURSED ASS HOPELESS LIFE."
3-6 Mafia stated in their song "3-6 In The Morning" ... "I TOLD THEM BACK UP OR SHE GOT BRAINS ON HER PANTS...DONT MAKE ME SHOOT, LITTLE DID I KNOW THERE WAS A SNIPER ON THE ROOF."
The group Hypocrisy once said: "DESTROY THE PRIEST PLEASE DIE, GODS AWAY YOU WILL DIE, SATAN GOD OF EMOTIONS COME & LEAD US ASTRAY!"
Jay-Z; I GOT DREAMS OF HAVING A 9-MILLA, TO BOBS KILLA....LUCIFER DAWN OF DE MORNING" ------------------ "
Rihanna; from her song Russian Roulette "TAKE THE GUN & COUNT TO 3, YOU SWEATING NOW, MOVING SLOW, NO TIME TO THINK MY TURN TO GO...IM TERRIFIED BUT IM NOT LEAVING, I KNOW I MUST PASS THIS TEST SO I MUST PULL THE TRIGGER!"
ahhhhhh, these are the lyrics we listen to....we listen to lyrics that downgrade each other, talk about killing each other having sex with multiple partners, cheating and even killing ourselves!! Those things are going into our memory banks. We are repeating, singing along...saying them at random bored times and even at times imitating the attitude of these artists (subconsciously) who know they have not & never will endure the things they say! Dont front, our dress code, hairstyles and even so-called swagg you jacked from someone, because all that we do now has been done before...if you did not create it, you saw it put your own twist! (sometimes lol)
Rap music has become the most salient music genre in the African-American culture and growing more in others. Researcher Ralph J. DiClemete (PhD), his study found that children between the ages of 2-18 spend up to or more than 7 hrs a day ingesting some sort of urban media, most of it repetition (e.i; music videos, award shows black movies...) Over the course of a 1yr study they found that children aged 14-18 who listened to rap were .....1) 3x's more likely to hit a teacher.....2) over 2.5x's more likely to get arrested....4) 2x's as likely to have multiple sex partners....5) 1.5x's more likely to contract an STD, use drugs /alcohol!
That's terrible and true and we all know it. NO of course this does not go for everybody because we are still our own individuals, but this is just a short excerpt to prove to my fellow readers that music does = evil/devilish ramifications!
We're humans and we act out, walk, wear, and talk like our environment, so for all my men using the N word as rampant as you do, yes music is the biggest influence...and for all my ladies who think it is ok to call your girlfriends 'bitches', yes music has an influence, and to all my kids who think it is cool to wear 40 necklaces all at the same time and steal fresh white air force 1's and getting caught because you want to look like T-Pain instead of working on math problems, you have something else coming. And for those few people overseas who shot themselves & jumped to their deaths while listening to Rihanna's new 'Russian Roulette' I hope you had a purpose!
I know so many of you disagree with me right now....if so WHY??????

QUOTE/CONTROVERSEY OF THE WK
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE OF YOUR POSESSIONS...
-Banguirimu quote
I figure this quote can be quite controversial within itself. In society of today we must admit, beauty is seen first or catergorized by the outside appearance. The shoes, the hair, the complexion, the way the outfit is put together etc...dont lie, you all have done it! And then from then on, just maybe will the insider persona seep out to the person of interest? To some, yes, to others...nope! That is because folks these days are just way too vain for mankind...again, you must agree, we are all guilty of it, do not lie to yourself. For example, if a male approaches a female and he is not her "physical type" right away, she will most likely find a way [hopefully politely] to turn him down, vice versa for the males...but that is ok, it is part of our human nature to need to be attracted to the opposite sex. However, the problem arises when we mistake being attracted to the outward appearance, which like the quote refers to as their possessions as "beautiful." No no no...maybe sexy, cute, handsome, spicey whatever it is you say, but beautiful, I just feel should be reserved for the inner being!
Our possessions are our hair, our eyebrows, the lipstick we buy from mac, the six-pack stomach guys have after drinking that powdery stuff to help them lift weights. Our possessions become the clothes we spend book money on, the shoes that cover our bare feet and even the slang we borrow from our fellow surroundings. When appealing to the opposite sex, then that becomes beauty, but that is alllllll wrong my dear readers. Yes beauty lies in the eye of the beholder but it also lies within.
--WHY DO WE FIND THAT TODAY ONLY THOSE WHO OWN THOSE POSSESSIONS ARE CONSIDERED EVERYTHING IN THE BOOK {pretty, beautiful, hot etc} & THOSE WHO DO NOT [yet marvelous within] FALL SHORT. AM I RIGHT WHEN I SAY, A PERSON CANNOT LOOK BEAUTIFUL FROM FIRST GLANCE WITHOUT SUCH POSSESSIONS?!
what is UR VOICE????

WE BLEED GREEN WHITE GREEN -49th independence!
Portuguese explorers were the first Europeans to begin trade in Nigeria, and called the port Lagos after the Portuguese town of Lagos, in Algarve. This name stuck on with more European trade with the region. The Europeans traded with the ethnicities of the coast and also established a trade in slaves which affected many Nigerian ethnicities. In 1914, the area was formally united as the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria. Administratively, Nigeria remained divided into the northern and southern provinces and Lagos colony. Western education and the development of a modern economy proceeded more rapidly in the south than in the north, with consequences felt in Nigeria's political life ever since. Slavery was not finally outlawed in northern Nigeria until 1936.[14] Following World War II, in response to the growth of Nigerian nationalism and demands for independence, successive constitutions legislated by the British Government moved Nigeria toward self-government on a representative and increasingly federal basis. By the middle of the 20th century, the great wave for independence was sweeping across Africa.
On October 1, 1960, Nigeria gained its independence from the United Kingdom. The new republic incorporated a number of people with aspirations of their own sovereign nations. Newly independent Nigeria's government was a coalition of conservative parties: the Nigerian People's Congress (NPC), a party dominated by Northerners and those of the Islamic faith, and the Igbo and Christian dominated National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC) led by Nnamdi Azikiwe (attended Lincoln University of PA), who became Nigeria's maiden Governor-General in 1960!Nigeria has more than 250 ethnic groups, with varying languages and customs, creating a country of rich ethnic diversity. The largest ethnic groups are the Fulani/Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, accounting for 68% of population, while the Edo, Ijaw, Kanuri, Ibibio, Ebira Nupe and Tiv comprise 27%; other minorities make up the remaining 7 percent.[61] The middle belt of Nigeria is known for its diversity of ethnic groups, including the Pyem, Goemai, and Kofyar.
