OSAMA DEAD!!!!!!! AL QAEDA???????

Im sure at this very moment the entire globe has been informed of Osama bin Laden's death.  Whether you found out by listening to Obama's speech where he stated firmly that "justice has been served," or you found
out by flipping through the channels and noticing a bunch of overly excited American citizens dancing, jumping, waving & laughing right on the front steps of the white house like I did.  Hmmm, first thought to escape through my lips were....are they sure he's really dead,  I mean, that's what they said a few years ago, but according Obama administration officials DNA proves 99.9% that in fact it is the body of the man who was born Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden (March 10 1957-May 2 2011).
This man was born in Saudi Arabia to a man once poor who made well for himself and a woman who was the 10th wife to Osama's biological father. Osama's parents divorced & his mother remarried, he lived with his 3 half brothers and 1 half sister, he also had about 43 other siblings by his father who of course had more than enough wives.  Osama himself followed his fathers footsteps, growing up a devout Wahhabi Muslim he too married 4 wives, 2 of them whom held docotorate degress in psychology...interesting right?!  That's what I said.
The main belief of Osama was that in order for things in the world to be right again Sharia law (the religious law of Islam) needed to be restored!  Clearly it was evident that he was passionate in this, because he built an entire empire of millitant followers quietly and quickly, (something I strongly believe the United States was well aware of)  As for the attacks he carried out I consider them devastating & heartless and in fact un-called for, however I see another side, and some of you may feel scorned by this or even rebel against me.  Growing up in a Christian household to Christian parents who both once were Muslim at a point (father converted when I was 10 mother at birth) I have come to realize that Muslims come off as the most devout in their religious beliefs.  I mean, who else blows themselves up to save others.  It sounds funny to me as I say it, but what other collection of people can say they believed in something so much that they were indeed willing do die so that others may see THE WAY???!!  Ummm, Hitler killed millions of Jews, the Europeans/Americans killed Africans during the slave trade, the Euro-Australians wiped out the Aborigins of Australia, they all killed OTHERS to make a statement, but the Muslims...well, they kill themselves.   Now before you all go ranting and calling me "ig-nant"  I know not ALL devout Muslims do this.  Of course not.
Every race, every religion and I guess even animals have their groups of fanatics.  Just as every country has their homeless & their rich, their fancy & their ghetto.  Even Chrisitians have fanatics.  What about the Crusaders (Christians) who killed off thousands of Jews on their way to "conquering the Holy Land?" or the so called Christian brother Stephen John Jordi who planned the abortion clinic bombing....thats a fanatic move too!  In Judaism certain tribes were subject to extermination!!!!  Who is the nicer guy here, I think no one, unfortunately Islam seems to get much more air time & press about their stuff.
Then we have my brothers & sisters, the Christians who teach us day in and day out NOT to JUDGE, that it is not our rightful place, but if there is one thing I have learned over the years, JUDGING is what Christians do best, and I almost can't stand it, but hey, who am I?... I judged the girl with the extra long acrylic finger nails with painted dollar signs on them the other day. lol
Anyway back to the deceased man of the month, Mr. Osama or Oussama. now that he is gone what next?  Tanya goes back to licking her ice cream, Tiffany continues driving her 4 children to work at 7:35am every morning, Linda stays on probation, John get's a promotion, I continue writing on my blog????  Or do we brace for another attack?!   Ha... United States of A, as much as I hate to say so.... the traditional Muslim burial of Mr Osama means nothing, we just may have tickled the feet of his followers & now they are laughing at us.  Let me say this.  KILLING OSAMA DOES NOT KILL THE BELIEFS OF HIS PEOPLE.  Osama may have been an influencial leader, but he was only ONE man & when one man has a mass behind him, his death mean another will rise!  Think about it since when has violence ever died out, since the begining of time when Cain (son of Adam & Eve) killed his brother Abel because his offerings were rejected.  He was angry, and boy I'm sure the same goes for the "fanatics" of Islam.  So for everyone who is celebrating another man's death... how many of you are Christian/Catholic/Jew/Hindu etc and believe in peace?  The many of you who are shouting praises to his demise are the same people who will teach your children that killing another man is wrong.  Osama killed people, he was wrong!  U.S.A killed Osama, we are wrong!  Hate what I say, this is what I feel.  People yell peace but expect to recieve it by imitating the eye for an eye.  How do you see this through your eye(s)?
Osama's children say he was a dedicated father and not a terrorist, I'm sure you don't believe so?!  So my question is, what about the walking terrorists we have on our streets, the rapist, the serial killers and dude next door who stole your the GPS out of your car?  We cant hate Muslim's or in fact Islam, it is what they believe...Osama is who he was, and his fanatical ways is what we should be against... he took the Quran out of context and exploded it.  So for all you ignorants & "ig-nan'ts" out there who snap your necks when you see a turban or make smelly faces when a lady in her full hijab or Niqab walks by...please get over yourself, you might not look so hot in your True Religion jeans and Polo shoes yourself   ;)
Hmph...do you reeeeeaaaaaaalllllllly think you should be celebrating?? ...For lack of words... America this is NOT THE END... lets see.

TONTO DIKE - to act or not to act??

To all my folks, and all those who watch Nigerian/African movies, many of you are very familiar with the very popular Ms. Tonto Dike.  I guess you can call her Nigeria's new blend of Rihanna/Angelina Jolie and even a blend of Madea attitude.  It seems like our Nollywood actress has found herself twisted in an "image" war of what her fans believe she should be.  Tonto is known for playing not only the scandelous, but the sexy, risky, outwitted, flamboyant, rude, loud, raz, and many a times deviously intelligent roles.
Soon to be 26 year old Tonto hails from Ekwere, Port Harcourt, Rivers state, a beautifil lady who's features stand out, her roles in the Nollywood movies has taken her quite far, movies such as Beyond Conspiracy, The Plain Truth,  and Garden Love.   Maybe you dont know, but one of her recent movies "DIRTY SECRET" has the whole of Naija & Ghana chatting loud.  Now I watched that movie, and that title fits perfectly.  Not only does that movie hover a great secret, but boy, that secret is believely dirty!!!!  The movie was produced by Sanga Entertainment where Ms. Tonto goes what you may call semi nude and uses alot of "tongue," who she uses the tongue with i wont tell, i say watch the movie yourself.   The explicit scenes (meaning plenty of skin & lude language) in this movie has Tonto's religious fans talking, attacking her role and calling it soft porn.  Many are wondering why the well known fab actress engages in such role and question of whether she draws the line of what role she does and does not play.
Now, I have watched this movie, all of its 2000 parts (like every niaja movie lol) and I can say my jaw dropped at the "secret."  It is actually a very good movie, interesting story twist, and I enjoyed the suspense.  Tonto did her thing as she usually does, but many ask... is she going to far?  Some accuse her of thinking she is a "Hollywood" star and that she is trying to hard.  Many ask where is the professionalism? Or would you say that her being open to play any role is what makes her the true professional she claims to be?  Tonto quotes, "how else do you want our movie industry to improve?  Americans do it and they are better than Africa on all grounds."  Wait.... is she seriously comparing American movies and African movies???????  I really hope not, because it is two different cultures and two types of expectations.  One fan had replied and quoted "there are better ways to make the industry grow, where have we thrown our sense of decency?" Another fan states how she finds such roles disgraceful, she quotes in question, "Nigerians are doing the porn thing now?"   Tonto continues to receive backlash and criticism on her "out there" roles ...but you as my reader tell me what you think.

*Does Tonto take her roles too far?  I mean she does show quite a bit of skin, and her foul language, well you could call it Hollywood inspired (though I havent watched many American movies where they curse that much) and seriously *it seems as though she is trying hard to go from Nollywood style to Hollywood style, is that the Naija way, oh and whats up with the Rihanna tatoo she has imitated on the side of her neck????

GONE FOR A MINUTE,.... NOW IM BACK!

Good evening ladies & gents.  Wow, so its been quite some time, last posting was pretty much a year ago!  I wonder what the great distraction was, but nevertheless my continuous writing i never did stop.  As you all know poetry I've deemed my second language, and so though I may not have been updating my blogs I made sure to continue creating my poetic visions on lined paper, blank paper, journals & notebooks, even on a styrofoam cup once :)    So, as previously mentioned, I'm back, it is now 2011, a year of fulfillment, prosperity, enjoyment and irieness, I'm happy to say I have been blessed thus far plus sure there is much more to come.  The next blog will be up in a bit, but here are some interesting laws I came across to start you off.

WEAVES vs NATURAL (vote of the wk) 3-3-10

So ladies and gentlemen, my readers from all walks of life.  This topic here has been a great and continuous discussion in the African/African-American community for more than many years.  WEAVES!!!!!!!  I feel as though this is a topic that slightly causes women & *cough* even some men (yes I have been a hairdresser for the past 8 yrs and yes men do wear weaves) to contradict what it is they believe.  I'll start off by saying that a guy once told me he couldn't deal with no "nappy Sh*#!" that his girl needs hair he could run his fingers through.  Now if you are of some African descent, we all know that's far from happening with non relaxed hair.  Then the same guy told me, "Im not with that horse hair either," first I had to set him straight that it definitely is not horse hair but indeed strands made from synthetic micro fiber...and for all the females who think the "human hair" they are buying for $30-$100 a pack is from a ladies hair in India then umm, i dont know what to tell you, that's a bit foolish don't you think?!!?  I mean how many Indians are cutting their hair that there's enough to go around... indeed it's NOT HAIR OFF A HUMAN in fact it is a different form of fiber called human hair so that you can do all the things you would do to your own human hair (curl, straighten, wash, braid etc.)  Anyway back to the brothers who do not want napps or weave.  In short if he is to date a sista he would rather have her dome permed bone straight like that of the Caucasian woman?  Am I right.  Of course I am, I mean too many men don't understand the concept of a black womans natural hair and the beauty it exuberates!  Black Beauty!  Now readers of course, growing up in both London and the United States of A I have fallen slave victim to what "LOOKS GOOD" as most have also done even on the continent of Africa.  I too have worn straight weaves, curly weaves, ponytails, colored weaves, long, short & all that's in between. But you know what the older I got the more I realized that black men found something more exotic in a black woman with flowing locks...well from a distance and at times even up close.  But tugging on those tracks is a NO NO, best believe they will be on the floor!  I too thought that if I walked around with neck length hair it wasn't enough.  And let's keep it real ladies, not many of us have the patience to just sit there, wash & set it every week and just allow it to grow.  We are not white women, we do not produce oil in our hair & so our hair will not grow at the same pace...ever!!!  I can tell you this though, cut off all the relaxer in your hair and see how much faster it grows than if you were to have a relaxer.
Moving on.  Some women like to say "oh, I don't wear weaves to look pretty" or "i just wear weaves because I like them"  I can see the point of view for both.  Weaves are very likable but most especially easier to maintain!  So are we saying we are not willing to put in the work to look presentable before stepping outside? or are we saying "i just look better with hair that's just a tad bit fuller, a tad bit longer, a tad bit finer and maybe even a tad bit lighter"  well, what's your reason for wearing weaves?? Or does it have to do with the many black men today who express the comment "i like a girl with NICE hair-long hair"  Pssh whats nice hair?  Listen if it looks nice to you then its nice ok. As much as many may hate to admit it, weaves are not healthy in any way, but they can act as a substitute.  Do women of color wear weaves so that it appears like they truly do have flowing locks, do they wear them to feel sexy...are they worn as a form of artistic beauty or is it just to impress men?  Don't lie ladies, we have all heard at least two or 3 black men state the obvious, they prefer sleek and...well...hair that hangs lol.  My question is what are we women lacking in our self-confidence that we have come to a point where we are willing to spend hundreds of $$ every month to have a certain "look" why cant we have "our own" look all for FREE...well except the money you pay for shampoo and conditioner.

So ladies:  WHY DO YOU WEAR WEAVES? - & IF YOU HAD TO BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF, DO YOU THINK YOU LOOK BETTER WITH IT?

To the fellas: WHICH DO YOU PREFER weaves or natural hair? AND KNOWING THAT ALL OF YOU WILL SAY NATURAL HAIR, WHY ARE BLACK MEN THE FIRST TO COMMENT ON THE SHORTNESS OF A BLACK WOMAN'S HAIR OR CONDEMN THE NAPPS TO BEING SO UNFLATTERING & "UN-SEXY?"

STRANGE but TRUE (seg.#1)

Everyday we all take death for granted.  Well read this and waking up in the morning then going to sleep at night uninjured and at peace will make you much more grateful...

A lady by the name of Diane Durre from Chambers, Nebraska did not wake up thinking she was going to be crushed to death...............................by a huge TACO BELL SIGN!

How about this...a man "Vincent Smith II" suffered grim consequences as an employee at the Cocoa Services Inc. in Camden, NJ.  While loading chunks of roar chocolate he slipped and fell into the large melting tank that held 50 C (120F) of hot melted chocolate, he was accidentally knocked in by one of the mixing paddles.  Smith was trapped inside for about 10 minutes before rescued, shortly after he was pronounced dead.
NEXT:  ........................what do you do if you have a body part amputated?????  Well these people decide to make light of their situation with uniquely crazy tatoos!

Free-thoughts

Ok so it has been indeed quite some time, since my fingers last typed an exceprt here.  My mind and soul has been so occupied, blogging was the last thing on my mind.  So this is a short free-write moment for my followers.  I have a question to ask.  Have any of you ever wondered why when something feels so right something comes up that makes you question what the hell you may have been thinking?  Yet...it still feels right!  How about this...  Life takes such a toll on your inner being that giving up is the only thing that will give you peace, yet for some reason you cannot fathom why you just can't give up! That was I these past couple of months.  Back and forth, up and down, left and right.  Funny thing is I had absolutely no reason to feel that way, Jah Jehovah was on my side the whole entire time.  Since last october I have experienced confusion, anger, joy, happiness, tears, impatience, and even at one point blankness.  Thought I had something good by my side then a couple of weeks ago wasnt so sure.  For years I thought I had no solution but a couple of weeks ago all prayers were answered.  Hmmm, life is something else.  But hey, that is why I am here right?!  Learn and teach, one thing I know I was born to do!  Everyone in this life fears that their hardwork, love and or dedication will not be reciprocated..I am human too, and yes for those of you who have known me for years this may not be the side you neceserilly know, but I have felt it and I probably will again.  Life is so unsure and if there are two, well three things in life that are promised it is "birth...struggle..and death!"

-Back in due time!

GO BACK TO AFRICA!!!! seriously?????????

Ok, so I usually wait a week for another update, but this thought has me eager to script away!!  "GO BACK TO AFRICA" they like to say.  I have only experienced that phrase once, but I seem to hear it way too often, least from the mouth of caucasions & moreso from the lips of the African/Afro/Black-American, whichever it is they choose to call themself.  I find it hilarious though, yes I do!  They say go back to a place that technically is rightfully theirs also, telling us to leave a land they DO NOT OWN and probably never will.  Interestingly I am yet to hear a black or African say to a white person..."go back to Russia, Germany, Portugal, Ireland..." or wherever it is your ancestors arrived from.... THEY TOO HAVE HERITAGE and came from No apologies to whomever I may offend but listen... this soil we walk on was stolen, violently taken and abruptly changed...but we are all here now, a land of many nations, it is called that for a reason, we all make up the ongoing history.  Do not sit here and cry that immigrants are taking jobs...those jobs sit under your noses for yrs, but government support seems sweeter (right or wrong?) and so you take that instead...then when other cultures come in and work hard to provide for a family and better their lives compared to what they may have experienced in their native land, you degrade them with your tongue and arogant measures, never be upset that someone is willing to work HARDER...it should be motivation...& black people stop saying the white man this, the white man that...if it is so detremental to you...take what the white man has to offer, build an empire and better your people (make any sense??) then maybe some will realize we indeed are not 1/8th human beings. smh, such nonsense.  And to the next person who tells one of my fellow Africans to GO BACK HOME...sit and think were your original home is!   Let's be smart!
TO ALL MY AFRICANS...from Guinea to Nigeria...from Zambia to Eritrea...from Egypt to Congo, and even from Trinidad to Haiti... I love you all! *na dey sabi*

EVERY TIME I CLOSE THE DOOR ON REALITY IT COMES THROUGH THE WINDOWS

B. Quilliam once said "THERE IS A FINE LINE BETWEEN DREAMS AND REALITY"  i absolutely agree.  I also say that reality is like a bite that never lets go...it holds on to you no matter how long you choose to remain in your fantasy land, once the fantasy is over (because fantasies do not last forever) you are right back to the world God put us in to live.  A world filled with hate, danger, lust, betrayal, past, present, future and the search for an identity.  At times I myself would rather choose abstract than meddle in the mist of reality, but over the years I have indeed come to learn that such way of thinking dies out, just like a fantasy, it will not last forever!  I will admit there was a time in my life where I believed I did not have to be realistic within myself and still live a realistic life...no sir, it wasn't until later that i could admit that it was illusion, false promises and unneeded expectations that bring us the [worldly] pleasures of life, but I have learned and I thank my Jah for that!  Some folks still cannot seem to grasp the such a strong word.  Some might say reality too is nothing but pure imagination or that a belief in God is nothing realistic at all....hmmm, i say reality is like a painted picture on a palette that never changes.  Rules stay the same...plants will always grow the same, and human beings will always have evil tendencies...sad but true.  I mean, am i right or wrong?  Tell me, what does reality mean to you.  And with modern day ways & technology are we even living a realistic life???

I AM NOT WHO YOU THINK YOU I AM....*SISTAH SOULJAH*

I'm not a preacher, politician, pimp or celebrity.  Most of them couldn't go to hell quick enough for me.  A man who doesn't say what he means or do what he says, craves attention and misuses it when he he gets it, doesn't share what he knows and earns, deserves death.

I am not who you think I am.  My people are not who you think they are.  Our culture and traditions are unknown to you. Sometimes it takes someone from the outside to show you how you look and do.  If you are American born and raised, you're bound to get it twisted.  You can't see yourselves or don't know yourselves.  You are too accustomed to looking at life from one f*^%$#d up angle.
Everything you have ever seen or heard about Africa is wrong.  My African grandfather taught me that storyteller is the most powerful person in the world after God.  My grandfather said be careful who you listen to and what they are saying.  The storyteller is clever and masterful and has already decided exactly what he wants you to think and believe. The storyteller has the power to make you feel good or bad, strong or weak, ugly or beautiful, confident of defeated.
Unfortunately, all of the stories being told to Blacks in America, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean have made blacks worldwide feel low, weak, crazy, backward and powerless.  So low that the storyteller has set the conditions for Blacks to be robbed of all of their stuff and too stupid to recognize it
So put your brews and blunts on pause.  Rock with me for a few.
